Strengthening the bond with consumers by the right packaging materials
Presenting your products in clear transparent packaging is a likely factor that will seal your retail sale. This has been repeatedly proven in a variety of retail settings, especially the high street supermarkets.
In front of the retail shelf, a consumer will usually take a few minutes to decide whether a bar of chocolate from manufacturer A or a bag of candies from brand B would end up in their shopping trolleys. In most cases, it is those products displayed in transparent packs that win hands down. This universal preference for transparent packaging can be attributed to the fact that consumers want to see the product contained within.
Product visibility
A true incident in the packaging industry has shown that clear plastic packs can do a world of difference to product sales. Polaroid once approached Hip Lik Packaging Products, specialist of manufacturing PET, PVC & PP clear plastic boxes, for solutions to promote a new camera. These cameras were eventually packaged in paper boxes and 50,000 clear plastic packs, to be placed on the same retail shelves and sold at the same price. Before long, it was discovered that the cameras in clear, transparent packaging sold far better than those in paper boxes.
Beyond product visibility, there are other merits of transparent plastic packaging that makes it a clear favorite with consumers and brand-owners alike. For example, beverage packs made from transparent plastic materials retain their strength, shape and integrity even when wet. In another example, the smooth surface of cosmetic items, packed in transparent plastics, can provide for high printability and eye-catching graphics to capture consumers' attention.
Durability
Still, packaging designers of top consumer brands know that not all plastic packaging materials (e.g. PET, PP, PVC) are the same, and some are more equal than others, so to speak. The difference lies in "durability." If the surface of a plastic casing has not been worn out, consumers would be able to see the beautiful products inside and become emotionally aroused to make a purchase.
While Hip Lik Packaging uses Grade A clear plastic folding PVC boxes, which are highly durable, countless factories in mainland China are churning out volumes of inferior blister pieces in PVC every day. Very often, they are presented as top-quality material to be sold in the open market. Unsuspecting buyers of such low-grade materials are often issued with quotations where the grade of plastic being used remains unspecified. When the material is used in the production process, the PVC boxes emerging from the assembly lines have a "worn-out" look that compromises on the outward appearance of the products, and affect their sales.
This is why Hip Lik Grade A Folding Boxes carry a higher price tag. But despite the cost difference, the superior-grade material is a worthy investment that could help fuel the sales of ordinary and fast moving consumer products, from electronics to fashion-wear, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals and several others.
Smooth surface and anti-static
Research studies by prestigious institutions including the California Institute of Technology suggest that consumers found more value in – and would pay on average 50 per cent more for – goods that they could touch. Hip Lik clear folding boxes are soft to touch, offering consumers a pleasant tactile experience, and yet the materials of the boxes remain durable and stay in shape even after several encounters with shoppers.
What is more, Hip Lik clear plastic boxes have been subject to a special anti-static treatment to prevent air-borne dusts from gathering on their plastic surfaces. Otherwise, friction among the dust particles would occur, acting like fine sand grains to wear out the plastic pieces. The more dust that is collected the more severe the plastic pieces would wear out.
Having undergone anti-static treatment, the surfaces of Grade A PVC Plastic Folding Box Pieces supplied by Hip Lik Packaging do not wear out easily, and consumers are spared the unpleasant sensation of ESD (electrostatic discharge) shocks.
Strengthening the relationship between brand and consumers
The visual elements of a product's packaging can contribute to a strong brand image. In addition, the way a package feels in one's hands can foster a closer connection between consumer and the brand. With an appealing visual element coupled with a pleasant sense of touch, the right packaging materials, such as those marketed under the Hip Lik brand, often succeed in connecting consumers and the product brand they come into contact with.
